Join Ariyananda for a rejuvenating time with movement, breathing and meditation to get into deep relaxation. Unlearn mental and physical patterns, return to balance, restore a sense of connectedness and belonging. This workshop involves gentle, accessible, dynamic and static Qigong movements which energise and ground the body and mind. Through a playful way to explore the body and mind and with deep listening and feeling, the Qi (氣, pronounced chi, meaning vital energy) is encouraged to flow naturally, unblocking stagnation and releasing tensions. The second part of the workshop will involve perspectives from Traditional Chinese Medicine (e.g., how to use food as medicine; how to release unhelpful emotions through the body’s energy channels.)
Qigong (氣功), literally meaning the cultivation of Qi, is an ancient internal art originated in China and based on principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a practice integrating the body, mind and spirit, which cannot be separated. It has been practised for thousands of years for general wellbeing and healing, and as a spiritual practice. In modern days it has been used as a prevention and rehabilitation approach for various conditions, such as fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s disease, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, anxiety and depression.
